Our Bremerton conference had 86 attendees and garnered many positive comments. We were very pleased to be able to provide six breakout sessions so that attendees had more choices available to them. One of our goals for future conferences is to encourage lay guardians and those who are not guardians but work in the long-term care industry to join us. If individuals can get together who have the same goals of protecting vulnerable adults while helping the same vulnerable adults to stay as independent as possible, maybe we can develop creative ways to do this; especially for the low income individuals, who have fewer choices.
Well, on to organizing our Eastern Washington conference, which will be in September. We are still looking for a venue but hope to have one confirmed in the not-too-distant future.
